About Me

My photo
artistbprakash
I paint what I see, the Seaside, the Ghats of Banaras, or the street scapes of Hyderabad. All are equally fascinating and challenging for me. I have worked in several mediums and it is the subject matter that determines the medium for me. My work in pen and ink is detailed and I concentrate on it's drawing and perspective to achieve the changing effects of light on the sea, also the activity on the shore is the story I like to tell. Here my main concern is the subtle tonal variations and it's rendering, and It does have an illustrative quality. Once I have studied the forms in great detail, they become part of my mind and the coloured images simply flow spontaneously to achieve the desired effects. The Ghats of Banaras evoke a pure and pious feeling in me especially in the early mornings. It is that feeling that I need to paint and watercolour is the best medium to achieve that religious content. For the street scapes of Hyderabad I prefer acrylics as my medium,so as to achieve mystic and blur environment that was depicted.
